They are! Very quiet. The reason is that my wife and I wanted to use them while watching TV after dinner and wanted a quiet machine, and you can't even tell they are working, except for the fact that you will be sweating buckets after a short while. I had a broken wheel on the front stand on one machine. I called customer service at Schwinn and they said I had to register the product first then send them an email, they couldn't help me over the phone as many other companies do. It ticked me off a bit. So, I registered and then sent an email, and it took a few days for them to return the email, but said they will send a replacement part. Not counting the holidays at Christmas time and Sunday, it took 6 days to arrive, which I thought was pretty fair. The only thing I do not like about the machine is the display. In itself, it is ok and easy read and to set if you just want to get on and ride and make your own adjustments as you ride. What I can't figure out, despite all the button pushing, is how to get the info for keeping a running record of my progress. Nor can I get it to give me a programme to use without having to sit there and set up everything again. It isn't too important a point for me, as all I really want to do is get on and ride and adjust my own tension (easy to do) while on the go according to how I feel. Also, after I turn it on (done by one turn of the pedals), it seems to have a time of about 30 or so minutes, and still counting, already displayed, and I have to stop it, delete it and start again each time. It's like the machine didn't turn off but the display kept running. The instructions are quite vague in these areas. Otherwise I would have given it a 5 star. He joined UPS in a big box that resembled something away, but instead of him, I decided to think that adorn the box for Christmas morning my son and I would like to take the field flat for mounting. After all that is the case, it will use würde.Wir managed to stay flat next Sunday. It was a bit of a struggle, because the box was heavy, bulky and weighs over 80 pounds, but we finally entered its Wohnung.Nachdem read some reviews on Amazon before ordering, I was ready for a meeting time. It took a lot weniger.Allerdings was not good news. We started to unpack, but before we had all of the box, look at my son, that one of the pieces was damaged. It was a plastic cap for the rear stabilizer. The stopper was with some parts still in plastic wrap, and some considered the merits of the Box.Wir no other damage so he called the Amazon, in the hope that we can get a replacement rear rollbar two stoppers. The agent was a bit difficult to understand, but ultimately, it was clear that Amazon could / should not send the replacement part. We had no choice but all zurück.An this point, we have faced it all back in the box. Not an easy task. We did not with the idea that we could have unpacked suitcases in the back. Finally, we have everything in the box and brought it back to my house for UPS pickup. They increased the next day - a Monday. From the perspective of the final consumer, it seems to be easier to get a replacement part. At the end of the week, I received an e-mail saying Amazon had issued me a refund - but nothing about sending a new bike. Next Monday, I called customer service and was told that the refund was the end of the transaction involved as much as Amazon. I wanted the bike, I would order again. My son said he wanted to have the product if I did it in order. One could cite "Fool me once, etc." but I ordered it came trotzdem.Schwinn 2 on Fridays. Everything was like Groundhog Day. On Sunday, my son came, so we can drag the field in his apartment. He saw a large hole in the middle of one side of the box cut. He even took a picture of the hole with his cell phone. But I said, the hole was not in the same position as the stabilizer. We decided to take the field in his apartment during the installation (I know, I know). This time, we found the sites in-box parts with care, as we unpacked. We did not get very far with the box, however. My son took the rear stabilizer and saw that it was also cracked. I thought I must have cracked again to control this thing! Back in the box. Back to Haus.Dieses times I did not call customer service. I had no interest in replacing the other. I own a NordicTrack ProRider, and wanted to try this because it had a physical flywheel vs. the magnetic one in the Nordi. Well, first off, this doesn't feel any more like a real bike, so right away I lost on the deal. Don't get me wrong, I'm not recommending the Nordi either, but this thing does make it look like a Rolls Royce. When I took the Schwinn out of the package, it actually looked pretty high quality. The packaging was nice, the steps seemed simple and the first 5 minutes seemed like heaven. I actually thought to myself, wow, I'm gonna write a GREAT review on this thing if it works half as good as it looks. Wrong. Within 10 minutes of reading the mind-numbingly stupid instructions, my girlfriend was trying to talk me out of throwing it in the ocean. There are no explanations, very few exploded diagrams, and each drawing seemed to be done from 20 feet away - not even using the full micro-sized page on the booklet they provided. I read the other reviewer's comments about bumping his knees and I thought he must be doing something wrong. Nope. Unless you're an elf, forget this piece of junk. You will hit your knees if you even come close to a workout. The display also attracted me to this bike. Nah ah. Crap too. Hope you want to ride it in a dark room for the rest of your life, otherwise you'll be guessing as to your workout. Don't get me started on the seat. I hope Tony Atlas is your neighbor.
